Hi Leah,

Today I turn 41.

I apologize for being a little MIA these past few months. I've been moving through some of the deepest grief of my life after my beloved partner Scott and I separated at the beginning of August. 

It was a beautiful, magical relationship, full of adventure, sacred work and deep communion with Gaia. And somehow, somewhere along the way, I lost myself. I put my music recording projects on hold. I didn't have capacity or desire to hold space or host ceremonies, let alone a whole Egypt pilgrimage.

In short, I lost touch with the pulse of my dharma and service.

So I’ve spent these past months picking up the pieces and living an Isis/Auset mythopoetic storyline. 

I put myself to task to gather the scattered pieces, to remember myself through ritual and to follow the fragments home through self-honouring. 

Interestingly, right after we split, I posted a reel of me making an Isis mosaic out of a broken sound bowl and it went viral. She was definitely working through the field to help me remember.

Slowly but surely, I was able to resurrect myself - but there was no way I could emerge in the same form I was before.

And then there was doing Burning Man completely sober. The event became a huge emancipation point for me - a place to play and sing again, throw down beats on an art car, rewrite old timelines and remember how alive I feel when I let myself create without permission.

So this birthday feels like a true rebirth day.

At 41, I'm just getting started.

I’m realizing that it's never too late to go for it. Sometimes letting an old version of yourself die becomes the invitation to finally meet the one who's been waiting in the wings all along.
